This is extremely high quality hose that is safe, long-lasting, durable, non-kinking, supple enough, and made in the U.S.A. Cheaper hose can either be too rigid or too supple, and it can be unsafe for aquarium use. When hose is too rigid it will not bend in the way you wish, which restricts flow. Hose that is too supple will kink, and this will also restrict flow.
